Sometime when there is one disaster or the other in a country or community, the way social works effectively to ensure the safety of people by even risking their own life to save the lives of people in calamity always amazes me when I watch them on television, I also have a brother in my street who is a social worker and will always post all his daily activities at work on his social media pages most times I feel like I am getting jealous of him, I just want to be part of this great profession that is dedicated to changing peoples life and helping people to live a better and healthy life. Advocating for others In the cause of my experience, I have been able to recognize inequalities in the society. Certain things or necessities that should be shared equally by people are not been shared equally, there is bias in the way things or resources are been distributed. Getting to know the roles of government to the people from my childhood, some things borders still borders me. The government is meant to provide basic amenities and social infrastructures to every community their power covers but one thing I noticed is that certain communities are always been preferred than others in terms of housing, transportation, pipeline water, community health services, educational facilities, employment and many other things needed for the realization of social wellbeing of people. These communities who are one the good side of receiving governments benefits are usually those in the town and city centers while those at the suburbs and rural areas are always been neglected. It is of major important to know th at the contribution of the rural community to the development of the city cannot not undermined, the rural communities are the one feeding the population in towns and cities, and they are also part of government responsibilities for better and healthy lives. They deserve good lives, good transportation network, good educational system, good health care services, good sanitary and sewage systems, and good drinking water. These people are usually underrepresented and this calls for the need of someone or set of people to advocate for them. Garland School of social work solely outlines their dedication to producing alumni who are influencing the social welfare of people, families, and communities through service and leadership by integrating faith. Societal Issue Poverty: Poverty is a major problem facing many people in todays society and it causing a lot of hindrances to progress. When people are poor, they wont be able to think of doing the right thing. Poverty is a societal issue that need to be addressed for many reasons following the words of Hussein Sow (2017,1) on Effects of Poverty on an Individual , the problem of food is a major problem for the poor, food is what we eat that gives us strength and without food there wont be strength to work. Even when there is food it is of importance to know if the food is enough and healthy. Most poor people struggle with malnutrition and most are starving to death. When someone is poor, it is evident that the person will having problem with taking care of himself or family, some that cannot afford to feed himself cannot take himself to the hospital to receive adequate care and treatment, the poor cannot afford to buy drugs or to see a doctor. One of the major problem of poor people is homelessness as even people who can still afford to see themselves struggle to get good house not to talk of people who cannot afford to take care of themselves. Some even sleep under bridges and beside the road sides, in the time of cold weather and snow period many froze to death. Delinquency is other problem associated with poor people as they dont have money to meet their need, they end up engaging in criminal acts like robbery, prostitution, drug abuse and resources vandalism. Some even engage in street begging just to meet their needs. A poor person cannot also afford good education because a good and quality education requires money and even if they find themselves in schools they dont always consecrate on what is been taught. Most of the time they cannot afford to buy notebooks and textbooks and without them, there is nothing they can read to pass examinations. This issue of poverty deserves public action and resources because if it is not addressed properly the problem that will emanate from poor people will hinder the progress, peace and prosperity of everyone. The society has also contributed to this issue of poverty through the act of selfishness, grid and corruption on the part of people and the government as resources and public fund are not been distributed equally among the people. Social workers can address this issue by creating awareness for the masses to know the importance of helping the poor people. For me as a social worker, I will go to governments, institutions, religious organizations and well to do people in the society to plead the cause of the poor in their ears so that they can rise up to help them and taking them as a responsibility. Stakeholders, auditors etc. which is further used to design the processes to design the rules and processes to make decisions in respect to corporate affairs (Krivogorsky, 2011). Thus the objectives of the corporate governance are to get the business objective which includes the ways adopted to achieve them. Hence, the CG has a direct link with ethics in respect to the social implications, market environments. Thus the governance in this context implies the activities undertaken; practices adopted which have direct implications for all the stakeholders in the business (Du Plessis, McConvill and Bagar ic, 2005). The case in context is the one where Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) are getting various complaints from the investors about the spending being illegally spent. The report explores the case on the style of corporate governance followed by the ASIC which has led to this. Since the principles of CG suggests that the system of law and approaches which direct the corporation to build its internal and external structures that monitors the action of managers and directors. Thus it helps in mitigating the risks associated with corporate roots of the business like decision making and misuse of stakeholder's resources (McHugh, 2016). Summary of the Argument as Per the Article The report says that the ASIC have received complaints from the investors about illegal use of their funds. Further, the count of such complaints is on the rise. In western part of Australia alone there were 10ssuch cases which are under investigation. The Commissioner John Price suggests that the tough business conditions were the reasons for such jumps where new start-ups may have the attitude to take the money from the trust with an intention to pay back. But the failing conditions of few are making the liabilities go high. The Corporation Act indicates that the money from fundraising should be with the trust until shares are issued or refund is needed. The Commissioner makes it clear in the statement where his suggestion is that the attitude of taking the fund with an intention to pack is not the cause but taking the money from the funds is unethical in itself (Gnecchi, 2006). The statement also suggests that if the inquiry finds out that Directors or company secretaries have taken the money, they have to face six months of incarceration. Again, if the money were taken by such positions to steal it from the fund using various allies, it would result in 10years of incarceration. He gives a hint of the backdoor listing of companies to siphon off the money. The story goes deep where the Commissioner hints at the ASX entry via merger by the bigger firm that has floated the shell company. This makes the assets being transferred to the listed firm, and the merger is listed with ASX (Taylor et al., 2008). Since such shell companies made a good deal of new directors being at the helm of affairs and the board expanded giving the shell company directors a chance of entry into the trust. In the midst, the trust money dealing had many loopholes due to the pouring in of new faces in the Board (Frc.org.uk, 2016, Psaros and Seamer, 2015). The hint of misguided or failed internal control of corporate governance is shown in this article. The case is widespread and the ASIC have to deal with it which needs to investor's trust to be back which have seen a great loss due to such complaints (Lim, 2013). The cases under investigation have the ability to show some kind of deterrence to the shell companies or the one who are into such malpractice to get a stern message. Regardless of how you look at life, one thing is the same for all of us: time. Time is a train that keeps on chugging no matter what; we are all on this moving train whether we like it or not. What if it was somehow possible to get off the train and board a slower train where time moved slower? Since the train represents time, you age slower on the second train. Once you reboard the faster train, you'd be in the future relative to when you first got off the first train; this is the concept of time travel. Most people at one time or another have been exposed to this concept, though usually through television and movies. In reality, time travel is strictly a theory if not a possiblity. Albert Einstein's theory of relativity opens the door towards the possiblity of time travel. One possible means of time travel is through black holes. On the other side of a black hole is a white hole, while wormholes connect the two. Despite criticism and lack of support, physics tells us that time travel is indeed possible and that the answers lie within the phenomena of space. First, we must look at Einstein's theory of relativity. Einstein proved that time can travel at different speeds, and that the speed at which time travels depends upon the state of motion of the observer. The key here is that time is relative to speed and position. For instance, if a traveller decides to travel from the earth to the sun at twice the speed of light, it will take him 250 years to get there since light takes 500 years to reach the sun. Meanwhile, a person observing from earth will age 500 years once the traveller arrives at the sun. When the traveller returns to earth, he will be able to see himself at the sun. This example illustrates the illusion of time; time for the traveller has slowed down due to the remarkable speed of his spaceship. The earth is now 1,000 years older, while the traveller is only 500 years older. Thus, time moves along on earth as usual. Much like the train example, the earth is like the first train, while traveling to the sun is the second train . Einstein's theory proves that time travel is possible, lets look at the phenomena that takes us even closer. A black holes is formed from the gravitational collapse of a massive star. Once it has been created, gravitational forces continue pulling in space debris and other matter; this adds to the mass of the core, making it more powerful. Because of this, black holes compress anything that enters its clutches. So what would happen if someone decided to enter a black hole? Black holes act like a one way street in that they only allow objects to fall into them, not out of them. If someone decided to enter a black hole, his or her molecules would compress to the point where the portion of his or her body that is passing through the hole would be compressed like a noodle. This is known as the ?spaghetti effect.? As of today, black holes have been found in space, but far too small and untable. If black holes act as an entrance, white holes act as an exit. White holes, on the other hand, are much like black holes in the way they are formed. The difference is that objects are pushed away from the center instead of towards the center. An interesting point here is that white holes expand matter due to its negative gravitational properties. At this point however, white holes are purely theoretical. A black hole and a white hole are connected by a wormhole, the key to time travel. A wormhole connects two points in space with no regard to time.
